The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005

This requires 'the responsible person' to carry out a suitable and sufficient assessment of the risks on the premises. What form the assessment takes will be dependent on the type and size of premises or undertaking concerned.

Competency

The Fire Risk Competency Council recommends that those carrying out the service 'have independent registration with, or certification from, a professional or certification body and that they meet the competency criteria'

I am an Associate Member of the Institute of Fire Prevention Officers; the IFPO represents fire safety professionals across all sectors including manufacturing, transport and fire and rescue services
